At PILI Foundation, we believe cultural learning should be accessible to everyone.  Because we see the positive impacts hula has on an individual’s life, financial hardship should not prohibit students from participating.

PILI Foundation Scholarship

PILI Foundation is pleased to support local students expressing interest in cultural workshops. This year, PILI Foundation will fund one local student for attendance at the upcoming MELE4MAUI Workshops scheduled for October 21, 2023

If you or your family member fit this criteria, we welcome you to submit your request.

AWARD

The scholarship award will cover registration fees for 2 hula workshops valued at $160.  One scholarship will be awarded. 

ELIGIBILITY

In order to be eligible to receive a PILI Foundation Scholarship, the applicant must be able to attend both hula workshops on October 21st 10 am-2 pm in San Diego County. 

REVIEW CRITERIA

The scholarship applications will be reviewed using the following criteria:

  1. General Information

  2. Name of person filling out the application

  3. E-mail Address

  4. Phone Number

  5. Name of the applicant

  6. Essay (in 1 page or less, explain why you would like to attend the hula workshop.)

  7. Justify your financial hardship (Explain why you need assistance and/or the difficulties you meet in paying for your hula education.)

The award is determined on a discretionary basis and requires the submission of a full application. Not all applicants will receive a scholarship. 

DEADLINE
Please submit your application online by
October 15th, 2023.  No late entries will be accepted. Award recipients to be notified by October 17th.
