Preserving and promoting cultural values and traditions of Hawai’i through hula, music and ethnic arts.

Connecting through culture and community.

PILI Foundation preserves and promotes Hawaiian culture, traditions, and practices through the arts. We strive to build a strong relationship with the Polynesian and Asian Pacific Islander communities creating a deeper understanding, appreciation and lifelong learning opportunities.

The continuation of the ancestral knowledge, grasping it deeply, and sharing the insights with future generations is of particular importance at PILI. Promoting the cultural values, traditional arts and cultivating critically valuable innovation ensures the legacy lives on.

Nurturing community.

We strive to create an environment rich with cultural events to support people of all ages in cultural and spiritual growth. Now more than ever, we know the benefits of being able to gather physically - stimulating more sharing, caring, innovation and growth. Connecting people is of utmost importance to PILI to strengthen our community, cultivate relationships and foster friendship.

Cherishing the past.

As cultural practioners, we are dedicated to sustaining strong traditional and spiritual values by educating people of all ages to take care, respect and learn all aspects of their craft. Taught by our kūpuna (elders), our hope is to maintain the protocols, teachings and history of the past. We hope to make a contributing impact and increased awareness in our local communities and beyond.

Hope for the future.

Our youth are the future of tomorrow. Today, they are our partners in learning and enthusiasm. Tomorrow, they will carry the responsibility of progress. Our hope is to perpetuate the rich traditions and values of our past generations by sharing with our keiki (children). Our approach is to take time to bring together multiple generations and nurture these special connections.

“I ka wā ma mua, ka wā ma hope”

The future is secured by the past.
